'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes battle with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the thrilling dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses following the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a powerful shot from 25 yards, and Cameron Burgess quickly slammed home the rebound before charging toward the East Stand to celebrate, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

This sealed an unbelievable turnaround given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 during the second half. During the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator shouting out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're humans, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win secured a fourth-round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with Jamie Donley's volley from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. It feels criminal that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that range," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right defensive wing after the team changed shape. That meant competing with the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the City players who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," he explains. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they understand how to dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're doing well and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It requires a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a popular figure across a couple of years at Orient and has swiftly done the same in his new home. At the London club he linked up again with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a loan at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Learning Curve

"I was likely a slightly green going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is completely distinct. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without much intensity. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that maturation for his team and nation, performing well for his national side, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including two matches fixtures against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the youngster from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his father, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

The player's sole appearance for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they featured on an plastic turf and the arena covering was sealed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he comments, smiling. "The week before, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he transferred from aged 16? "The decision proved relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I knew I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I needed to go my own route, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a minibus driven by club employees, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to interact with the teammates but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and driving. His teammate is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on the Tube after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
